Proverbs 18
1 Them there unfriendly folks are really just lookin out for themselves,
and with no reason they just love to argue.
2 The stupid ain’t excited over some good horse sense,
but they sure like telling you all their mind.
3 When there is evil, folks just don’t want to live right,
Just like shame go right hand in hand with disappointment.
4 Words can be might deep like the deepest well,
but good common sense is like a creek runnin out of a mountain.
5 Nobody should stand around and do nothing while innocent folks get hurt.
6 The mouth of the stupid stir up trouble,
and their gonna get themselves a good ass whoopin.
7 The stupid will start blabbin their mouth,
and they will set their own trap.
8 Folks who tell rumors its just like eatin vittles that go down into the gut, but it just don’t set right.
9 Take folks that are lazy in their work
they are like the ones who tear down instead of help .
10 The good Lord’s name is like a storm cellar;
the folks who live right will run right in and be in good shape.
11 Now rich folks like to think of their money like a great big wall;
I reckon they think no one can climb it.
12 When folks feel on top of the world they think they are all of that and a bag of chips,
but they got to humble themselves before they will get any real respect.
13 When folks answer before they listen—
it is stupid and disappointing.
14 You know the heart can handle sickness, but if it gets shattered like glass it just don’t wanna live?
15 Take someone with good horse sense they gonna get some know how,
their ears perk right up listening fer it.
16 What the good Lord put in man will open the door
and put em in the right place the right time and right kinda folks .
17 The one who speaks first sounds right until you hear what somebody else has to say.
18 The judge can settle disputes and keep enemies apart.
19 When a brother is done wrong he ain’t gonna open up, He is like a door locked and a gate locked in battle.
20 Folks mouth is gonna fill up their belly;
They can talk themselves right into a satisfied harvest.
21 In that there tongue of yers is life and death,
and whatever ya talk about is what yer gonna get.
22 When ya find a good wife ya found something real good
and ya done got something special from the good Lord.
23 The poor are just askin for some mercy,
but them cruel rich folks just got no compassion.
24 One whose friends ain’t sticking up for em ain’t gonna do well,
but some friends are better than yer own blood.
