The whole creation is on tiptoe, to see the wonderful sight of the sons of God coming into their own. Rom.8:19 (J.B. Phillips translation)
Many questions are asked about disasters in the earth I don’t have all the answers and sometimes the best answer is I just don’t know, but here are some things to consider as we look to the Lord.
Here are some questions that arise.
(1)—–Is this God punishing man for their sinfulness? The answer is NO! God put the sin on Jesus at the cross. (2 Cor.5:21)
(2)—–Is this a sign of the end of the world? No ! Not anymore then any other disaster in the past 2000 years.
Consider this about tornados they have happened many other times in history, was it a sign of the end of the world when it happened a century ago or even before that? We must not allow ourselves to be put in fear or mis-understanding thinking the end of time has come.
Jesus when he mentioned earthquakes and other events in Mt.24 or Mk.13:8 he said, ” this is the beginning of sorrows” this word sorrows in the greek means travail or birth pangs, not the end of the world, but the end of one thing is the birth of something new.
(3)—–Is God trying to tell us something? always, but that is not the reason for the tornado God’s method for revelation is for us to embrace His son, and the Holy Spirit will teach us all truth.
(4)—– Did the devil do this? I don’t believe so I know that is surprising to some, but the devil is not that big and powerful, and he is limited to what men do, he does not own the earth and never has he is a defeated foe, when we don’t have an answer for something we are quick to blame the devil or even God, someone may say well he is the prince and power of the air yes he is, but the word air in the greek is not that kind of air where the birds fly but the greek word “aer” meaning breath or respiratory.
(5)——How could a loving God let this happen? It is truth that God is love, and His tender mercies are over all His works. The Psalmist said ,”The heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth has He given to the children of men.” (Ps.115:16) God has placed us in charge of the planet yet God is the owner, but we are still his managers authority of the planet is in our hands so we must come into our own together.
Here is what is happening; the earth is in travail giving birth to a new day waiting to be free from the pain of an old creation called “The first Adam” and delivered into the glory of a new creation called the” last Adam ” We also groan within our physical body waiting for the manifestation (Greek-apokalupsis) un-covering or revealing of God’s dear son’s or the disclosing or coming read Rom. 8 especially verse 19
(6) Can we learn something from this? Absolutely! We can learn more than we can say in this article. we can learn what is most important in life, and that it is not things, but people.
